I'm a college programming student. I talk tech, politics, and interesting science. I'm also transgender, and not afraid to make that known publicly. Those who cannot respect that need not interact.

2025 has been an incredibly hard year for trans people. And yet... the political project to erase us is failing. In spite of them having so many levers of power, many of us have continued to thrive, and new pathways open up every day to get around the attacks.

My case for hope for 2026.
The Case For Hope: Transgender Rights Going Into 2026
This last year has been one of the hardest years for transgender people in memory. Somehow, though, I'm feeling hope going into 2026.

For being so quick to claim they're being persecuted, conservatives sure get off on persecuting people.

It's always about owning your enemy, never about working toward the common good with MAGA.

We've done horrific things like legalize sexual assault of LGBTQ people in prisons to "own the libs."

While many of you may be celebrating the races in NY and VA, in GA the PSC race has led to a rare win as well. GA Power, regulated by the PSC has been allowed to get away with extreme rate increases and uncontrolled spending by the republican PSC. Voters have said "no more."

This is a 2021 poll, But it's still important:

According to Pew Research only 42% of people know a trans person. Even then, most don't understand them.

It's important to remember this, we need to raise awareness of trans issues, that's how we win long-term.

Rising shares of U.S. adults know someone who is transgender or goes by gender-neutral pronouns
Americans’ comfort levels with using gender-neutral pronouns to refer to someone have remained static since 2017.

I'm learning Italian to have a deeper connection to my ancestral roots. Apparently, my ancestors have an entire subset of swear words to insult god himself.

This is gonna be fun.

If corporations are people then why can't they go to jail. When's the last time you got a small fine for negligent manslaughter?

They won't end with children; they want to exterminate transgender people from society entirely.

If they think that sticking their fingers in their ears and forcing us in the closet will fix the problem, well they're in for a very nasty surprise.
1. This weekend, Representative Adam Bird in Ohio, when asked about the new trans bathroom ban on CNN, said that transgender youth will be "less of an issue" in the state after banning their care.

The implication is chilling.

Ohio Rep: Ending Trans Care Will Make Trans Youth "Less Of An Issue"
The Republican Representative, who was the prime sponsor of Ohio's bathroom ban targeting trans youth and some adults, implied that a gender affirming care ban would mean fewer trans youth.

Idiocracy doesn't start because of some pseudoscientific eugenicist belief that intelligence is based on genetics and IQ, and that those people have more children.

It happens with the demolishing of our educational institutions, which causes a cycle of distrust and apathy toward knowledge.
