For math too complicated to visualize in my mind, I scratch out and save on MSPaint where I will immediately forget about it the next day. I think the picture was related to solving for a constant about a tangent that I was never able to figure out so I fudged the number anyway.

I usually just do very casual game stuff around the end of the day at around 7ish (PST). But I've also thrown in some art and gamedev stuff from time to time.
