Tommy Thompson Park looks super dystopic but is actually such a huge rewilding success story and I'm shocked it's taken me over a decade of living in Toronto to check it out.

Just under halfway through this gorgeous queer/fantasy retelling of The Great Gatsby. I haven't been able to put it down since I started reading it yesterday. At this point I'll read pretty much anything Nghi Vo puts out; she never disappoints.

Lil update: I finished it! This is the Sunshine Tee by @andreagaughanknits.bsky.social ...except I reverse engineered it to be bottom-up instead of top-down, so that I would have an easier time keeping my stripes lined up.
Yarn is all from the splendid @valkyriefibers.bsky.social.

A quick snack before I start the 3rd Imperial Radch book. I adore T. Kingfisher's horror stories, and I love the narrative voice of the Alex Easton novellas especially.

Finally read Ancillary Justice and it's everything everyone who's ever demanded I read Ann Leckie told me it would be. Loved every second of this, excited to read the next two.

I have no business making yet another pair of fingerless gloves, but who's going to stop me? Luna? She won't complain as long as she gets to sit in my lap.

Have been tearing through this one: The Black Coast by Mike Brooks. Been awhile since I read something with such engaging, fully realized worldbuilding with complex characters and interesting explorations of gender/sexuality.

Hi y'all, I have some big news! After giving it a lot of thought, I am closing my design business. It's been a wild ride over the past 6 years and I am so incredibly grateful to everyone who's come along with me. It has been a privilege, in every sense of the word.

The sweater for my partner is done and on the blocking mat! The only direction they gave me was "big cables", so big cables they got. I started with a pattern, hated how it was written, and ended up mathing out my own and it fits them perfectly 🥹

New cast on: I Am No Man by @commonthreadfiber.bsky.social. I've had this pattern on my list for *ages* and am aiming to have it done for next month's screening of Return of the King at my local indie cinema.

A baffling turn of events: I have arrived home, caked in snow, to find, inexplicably, an industrial sized jar of pickles on my doorstep.

Luna seems extremely dubious about this sunbeam this morning. To be fair, sunlight has been in short supply lately and her brain is very smol.

one of the previous moments recovered from my now deleted IG account: the time Laika fell asleep with her eyes open and her tongue hanging out.

Me: "I'm not really a bird person"
All of my friends, every last one of them: "Sure you're not. Here, I bought you this extremely specific bird themed item because it's perfect for you and I knew you'd love it. Also, have a bird meme you're going to laugh at for 3 days straight."

Currently reading: On Earth We're Briefly Gorgeous, by Ocean Vuong.
A deliciously slow read - nuanced, aching prose on every page that I often end up rereading multiple times before moving on to the next section.

Sometimes she sits behind my desk and stares at me. Sometimes she does it for so long, she falls asleep in stare position.
