I like the individual pieces vs the larger sum. There are engaging elements and I enjoy the gesturing to larger societal issues, but I wish there was a little more meat here. Its still a fun time, but doesn’t quite stick the landing imo.

Dave Matthews was too good. Honestly, I was way more charmed than I expected.

Watching this really highlighted our current catch-22 news environment: our media fails at being the watchdog on government, but then the public are too media illiterate to critically think and engage with reliable reporting. We are sorta fucked, huh?

I try to avoid hyperbole, but this experience feels seismic in the way it’s changed my context for art and my relationship as the viewer/consumer. I’m so appreciative Lynch left this vast work for us to chew on and work through. I’m not ready to leave this horrific, absurd world just yet.

The second viewing really helped add clearer definition to the various themes of the film. This movie is such a kinetic experience that it can be hard to synthesize all disparate parts, or rather, what appears disparate.  However, it all clicks. The honey story stood out even more as the core moral pillar of the story and added dimension to every action. What a great movie! Timmy really has the juice.

How are we still pretending this whole Jacob and toddler thing is okay?? What a strange choice, man.  At least I am finally free…

Very lean and effective and I’m not talking about Ben ;) Sub 90 minutes with economical filmmaking and fun jump scares. Sometimes that’s all you need!

I’d like to see any performative male go toe-to-toe with Kathy.  She has some straight heaters that would put them and their labubus in the dirt. In all seriousness, this might be one of the more unique takes on vampirism. The internal violence of drug usage in contrast with collective violence against humanity…I need to sit on this one more, but in the meantime I’ll be shopping for small black sunglasses.
