The reference to Fisher caught my eye, initially as an anachronism in a CofE parish. Prompted me to read your web page. What a fascinating period in the mid-20thC. Almost a part-proxy for the schizophrenia at the heart of the Anglican Church.

Not a very arcane concept. Pretty widely understood in Scotland. Wheel has turned full circle. 1707 wasn’t “betrayal”. As with present trend to Indy, it was/is enlightened self-interest; rUK now in long-term trending economic & social decline. As George Stephanopolous said…(even if it takes time).
