In this instance… The first big portrait is Pyra and Mythra in the epilogue/aftermath of Xenoblade Chronicles 2, when they are reborn. The second portrait is Pneuma, ominously looking at the camera. The third portrait is Pyra, with her eyes closed. The fourth portrait is Mythra, cradling the final portrait in a somber way and not showing her face in shame. And the fifth portrait is her Core Crystal, before being awakened by Addam. This took so long 😭 But I’m pretty happy with how this turned out. I hope you all like it!

A friend asked me to do the Frieren thing.

Whenever I draw this angle I stylize it quite a bit. I already stylize things a lot of ways but this angle I have to force things a bit more in order to keep the same overall headshape of the character. And a smug expression helps her look like Frieren.

Camera movement has existed longer than we might think, with pans becoming common in the 1900s.

Early filmmakers also simulated movement. This 1908 fairy tale THE GRATEFUL LITTLE MICE gives the illusion of a zoom by pulling the performers and prop book toward the camera. It's nearly seamless.

In the '70s, Hayao Miyazaki tried to revive the cartoons of his youth. And he kept mentioning Fleischer's Mr. Bug Goes to Town.

He loved its animation and use of "space," and the physical way its characters navigate its world. We look into the story:
