Now that they’ve played Arsenal - with Roger’s unplayable - I predict a quiet spell for Villa in the league as they recover for the Arsenal game on 30 December 😀

Wonder when we get more than a cameo from Nwaneri ? Madueke’s comment about plenty of minutes to go at sound does seem to not include Nwaneri.

I mean the racism is priced in, that’s what secured their vote share and why it would be damaging to him to apologise.

His reaction did make me chuckle

This means a decent win at home to Kairat leaves us top of the league phase
December 10, 2025 at 9:19 PM
that really is the point that keeps being evaded by his apologists
December 10, 2025 at 2:35 PM
It did thank you and they very happy.

I thought the decision both confirmed and contradicted your earlier post. VAR just VARs

A gift from VAR

A great memory

You’ll have to put up with my mindless trivia or ‘mute’ me this morning. Have a van full of stuff to move my son into his new house. Waiting on solicitors to release the keys….

That’s tough. As a non-league club in the 1970s and 80’s even before Nigel Clough Burton always seemed to attract managers with a “name”. Beating them a tough ask

You’ll find out a lot tonight. There will be some players happy to come out of his shadow/influence
December 9, 2025 at 10:58 AM
You do it now or not at all in my view. The corporate cynic in me would let him get on with clearing out/succession with some unspoken red lines as to when the Board pulls the plug. Only though if they know who to appoint. Arteta’s early seasons at Arsenal weren’t pretty

Oddly it reminds me of Fergies’ last season at ManUtd. A squad that overachieved and won the league then needed rebuilding. In Liverpool’s case Slot somehow got the last hurrah season rather than the first of ManUtds decade of nightmares. If Slot goes the next mgr needs to be given long term support
December 9, 2025 at 9:55 AM
If not - and I guess you are right - that is a shame. I found it intriguing guessing whether last year’s title was to Slot’s credit or good fortune. In reality he’s rebuilding an ageing squad and this furore means we may never find out his ability.

I remember listening to a breakdown of a court case associated with Portsmouth’s insolvency in the years after they won the FA Cup. Scandalous disregard for all the local businesses that supported the club. I look at Sheffield Wednesday and see how little has changed for all the money in the game

‘It is too late for a prosecution’ shows real contrition
December 9, 2025 at 8:25 AM
Enjoy it - such a shame there was an inevitable small allocation. Maybe some key payer changes tonight ?
December 9, 2025 at 8:24 AM
It was that anger that struck me

?
December 7, 2025 at 9:32 PM
From the outside I think this is pretty sad. Your titles came in seasons when Salah was unplayable and I think there is a lot of grief behind closed doors we can’t see. This doesn’t help and to my mind whoever his comment is aimed at it ultimately ends up on the fans. Very sad
December 7, 2025 at 9:14 AM
We’ve got the squad depth to rotate and keep players fresh, but at the moment it is compensating for injuries. Two very late goals, here and at Sunderland, have cost us 3 points. No point in us feeling it’s more than that

If you have a space where it’ll look good get one in 👍
