i used to have the first gen palm zire, which was closer to the m100 in specs. that one could display 16 shades of grey, which was even cooler. i still have it but unfortunately the digitizer crapped out on it and it doesn't respond to taps

fun fact: iirc these displays can render four shades of grey, not just 1-bit monochrome. the OS seldom showed it, but some apps and games used the 2-bit mode. combined with dithering, photos and maps could look half decent on it
