53% of Americans believe billionaires are a threat to American democracy.

Meanwhile, just 100 billionaire families spent $2.6 billion on federal elections last year — a 160-fold increase since Citizens United.

The people know: billionaires should not be able to buy our elections.

Bill Clay changed St. Louis. Before I retired, I spent a week researching his career, interviewing him and others and writing his news obit for the St. Louis Post-Dispatch:

An unrepentant liberal, Clay served more than three decades in Congress, the first African American from Missouri. His son, Lacy Clay, succeeded him.

That one person can drag us into a war without consulting or even notifying Congress, or our allies, or fully explaining to the American people why this is necessary, is absolutely bonkers.

Reminder that Congress has the power to stop all of this. Where the hell are they? Hello?

A landmark new study finds that after a major SCOTUS decision, child gun deaths soared—but only in states that loosened gun laws. In states that kept them tight, the outcome looked much different. Jeff Nesbit explains.

The more guns are available, the more children will find them and use them.

Trump’s wealthy donors will weather his tariff storm just fine – while you pay more at the checkout line.

And don’t forget: they get a new round of big fat tax cuts, too.

It’s government for the rich, by the rich.

NEW: There's no reason to act like Trump is pursuing a trade policy or an industrial revitalization strategy.
These are just sanctions, imposed to intimidate countries and companies into submission like they're universities or law firms. They're what a mob boss would do.
