Had an absolute blast at @hauntedshores.bsky.social and @macabredanse.bsky.social wonderful 'Unquiet Shores' conference. I got to speak on trauma, water, and sound in horror film, with a very generous reception to my (typical) insistence on inserting trauma and gender into EVERYTHING. Cheers!

Genuine pleasure presenting our reading of Cry To Heaven at @hauntedshores.bsky.social this morning! Seeing and hearing the wonderful presentations on Stephen King and Dion Fortune + the myriad ways I have pronounced 'castration' in the space of 20 minutes was great fun! 🎶🌊🏛🏳️‍🌈
The cover for our presentation (we used the call me by your name font): Why is it you walked into the sea? A phenomenological study of voice and Venice's queer canals in Anne Rice's Cry to Heaven (1982)
