In honour of White Ribbon and #16 Days of Activism against gender-based violence, we have created a playlist of uplifting songs.
Today's suggestion is Kate Bush 'Running up that Hill' (with special mention to Placebo's cover version, which is also wonderful):

I wish teenage me - attempting to navigate identity through the early internet days of AOL/MSN messenger, My Space, Tumblr - had been able to see 'We're All Going to the World's Fair'. It would have been incredibly validating.
Such a cool film (and it's on C4 catch up for UK folks).

Top tip from a trauma therapist: If you are not sleeping well, now is the *perfect time* to soft launch a smoky eye shadow; it'll hide the dark circles AND make you look badass.
You're welcome x

Aw, thank you for the invite but I can't make your Halloween party - I've got Big Plans ruining myself emotionally.

To any survivors out there, you don't have to read the excerpts from Virginia Giuffre's book. You are not doing her a disservice and you have every right to protect yourself. It is horrible.

Rest easy x

Happy Monday and a gentle reminder to those dealing with chronic illness to watch out for the October Slide.

This time of year can cause flare ups, increased symptoms and unexpected hits to your baseline.

It’s best to go slow. Be gentle. And know that you’re not alone.

Didn't love 'V/H/S Halloween' (more misses than hits this year) BUT 'Kidprint' is one of the darkest entries I've seen and very effective. Will be thinking about it for a while.

Rewatching 'AHS: Hotel' after ten years and I forgot how sumptuous it is. The outfits! The music! The hotel lobby!

Best character in horror, fight me: Javier from 'Grave Encounters'.

Absolutely blown away by 'Alice, Darling'. A beautiful exploration of the insidiousness of coercive control and the importance of grounded, compassionate people who will call the bullshit what it is: abuse.
Double-bill it with the incredible 'Woman of the Hour'. Anna Kendrick is a force of nature.

Guess it's time for another rewatch!

'Bring her Back' is incredible: brutal, nihilistic, heart-breaking. Watch it watch it watch it watch it then give the Philippou brothers a V/H/S segment to revel with. Do it!
