The owner of this doc is said to be a Carl Fetting, a member of the 108th Engineer Battalion, 33rd Infantry Division. I assume he recently passed, though I'm still looking for some more information there.

"The Rozich Blackburn Tompkins bridge was built by the 51st Combat Engineers upstream from the Ludendorff Bridge, between Kripp and Linz."

It was named after three Engineers who died during its build.

I received a unique birthday gift this year. I think my fellow military history lovers will appreciate it as much as I do.

A sketch of the Rozich Blackburn Tompkins Bridge, a key pontoon bridge built to cross the Rhine in 1945, apparently signed by the men that built it!

While discussing his efforts to source engineering equipment & vehicles, Constantine - a Veteran of the 2014 invasion of Ukraine - also offered some really interesting insight into a perhaps under-appreciated need: battle taxis.

If you want to know what happens at the end of Pax Americana, the final stages of Pax Romana, Pax Mongolica, & Pax Britannica make for interesting reading. History doesn't necessarily repeat, but it does rhyme, so the saying goes.

Spotted several familiar faces in some of the Freedom Shield 25 photos being released.

Seeing a few of the younger Soldiers, originally "humble" boat drivers, now experienced NCOs & essentially running the show, is a good feeling.

We have solid folks out there.
