I went from Brave to Waterfox in late 2023, and then to Floorp late last year. I'm not a guy who uses every single function a given browser offers, but I've had absolutely no complaints with Floorp in a year of use. 100% recommend.

Seriously though, this was awesome. Got to say hi to Mindy Sterling, and even better, thank Mick Foley for turning me on to Tori Amos's music! Both super cool folks in person.

Other than that: do you like musicals? Fantasy action steeped in the Spider-Verse style of animation? Stories of self-acceptance and choosing your own destiny? Pure cheese? If you answered yes to any of this, this is definitely worth your time, K-pop stan or not.

I won't tell you the narrative is too special, because it isn't, but my only complaint here is in the final act feeling like it's wrapped up too fast; maybe something was lost on the cutting room floor. Not too bad of a compression, but it was noticeable enough to mention.

The big thing that first stuck out to me is that they really succeeded at developing the main characters so well that you look at them like legit K-pop idols. Not kidding one bit when I say that I came out of this almost wishing that HUNTR/X was a real group. I'd listen to that shit!

A few days after that, I also found a kickass cover of the song "Your Idol" from the climax scene, done by the band Our Last Night. Naturally, I had to look up the original after that, and upon hearing how hard it went, I immediately went "fuck it, let's see it all." www.youtube.com/watch?v=-8Br...

That changed early this month, when I was yapping with fellow Mississippian brony and full-bore K-pop stan @creativaartly01.bsky.social (who introduced me to not just DC, but also Descendants), and asked her if KPDH was worth a watch. Can you possibly guess what answer I got to that question?

I went into this movie under the impression that it was gonna be tailor-made for existing K-pop fans, with a bunch of in-jokes and such. My limited involvement with the industry, on the other hand, is mostly as a fan of noted outlier Dreamcatcher, so for a while, I didn't pay this movie any mind.
