Today, on International Day of Women and Girls in Science, I’m proud to be one of over 100 women contributing to the Solar Orbiter mission! 🚀

Five years of Solar Orbiter - and counting! 🌞 ✨ 🚀

💫🎉 Behind every successful ESA space mission, there's a woman. Behind the ESA & NASA Solar Orbiter mission, there are more than a hundred of them!

Join us in celebrating them today, on international day of women and girls in science!

Looking forward to the new insights the PUNCH mission will bring on the corona and solar wind - and looking forward to playing with the observational data 🌞🐍! Best of luck to the team for a successful launch in the coming weeks! ☀️🚀" #heliophysics

Spotted some apt graffiti by Broombridge this morning while cycling along the Royal Canal to Dunsink - right at the spot where Hamilton first wrote it down:

i² = j² = k² = ijk = -1

Check out this video+sonification showing how ESA's Solar Orbiter mission has captured the Sun’s increasing activity! 🌞

I worked on making this movie, combining EUV images from EUI (☀️) and X-ray flare data from STIX. Sonification by Klaus Nielsen.
