the vast majority of special moves in your inventory though will be stuff that can't be unequipped by default, because it comes as part of a character's base move set. you can technically unequip it but only with an extremely rare item that can only be bought a limited number of times in story mode

"unequip all" also only works for equipment and stat beans; it doesn't unequip special moves. if you are trying to equip something and see that you possess it but it's being used somewhere, you have to find it yourself because the only way to unequip it is to find out who has it

there's a bug where you can't assign hyper moves in the shortcut menu if you're sharing the characters between story mode and other modes. the older games didn't have an "unequip all" button afaik but the one in vicro only does it for the active team; characters in the bank will hog their equipment
