I took a break from making Little Goblin's level editor to add the ability to make certain objects climbable at my discretion, so I can add climbable furniture and give myself the ability to add some verticality to this otherwise 2D game. Should add a lot of options for making fun levels! #Godot

Haven't shown any WIPs lately so here is our poor and bald NPC getting scared and fleeing to hide while on the job. Next is adding dialogue like I did with the guards! Lighting not enabled yet and the level isn't ready don't look too hard at it #LittleGoblin #Godot #GodotEngine #indiedev #gamedev

This is very early so there's lots that I know needs to be changed and tweaked, but I got the underlying dialogue system up and running! The reason it moves so much is because you can hear conversations that are happening off-screen. I'm just happy that it will actually come together #godot #gamedev

I decided to add Visual Sounds™ to Little Goblin today for accessibility purposes. It'll probably be off by default and enabled by an option, but I wanted it to be there. I have some visual QoL changes like fading with distance, but do y'all have any ideas for how to improve it? #Godot #gamedev

I need to tune the guards' vision and hearing once I actually add lighting to the level, and it's a lil buggy, but I got the guards (and other NPCs) to fade in and out according to the status of the room(s) they're in. #Godot #GodotEngine #gamedev #LittleGoblin #StudioRespite

Once again @glitcheli.bsky.social saves me from hours of stress by thinking of this. I really didn't like how the walls faded in and out as you traversed. Now the rooms are invisible until you get close enough to enter them. Feels much more focused and claustrophobic! #Godot #LittleGoblin #gamedev

This needs more fine-tuning and I need to adjust light occluders but I'm getting to a point where I'm happy with how the walls are fading. You do need to be able to see in a stealth game after all!

With the rate that I'm building out the sole level for Little Goblin, you can expect my #Godoctober game to come out some time in late February. That being said, @glitcheli.bsky.social created the sneaking animation, so here's our little freak sneaking around the test area! #Godot #GodotEngine
