Happy Indigenous Peoples’ Day! The acorn is a nutrient rich traditional food source for Native Peoples in CA. Despite colonization, acorns remain an important part of culture, and the acorn harvest takes place around this time! Traditional acorn dishes include soup, bread, and mush.

It is heartbreaking to watch our immigrant and POC community members being kidnapped off the streets. We deplore that people are having to live in fear, worrying for their families and even choosing whether or not to risk going to work or the grocery store.

The inhumane treatment of Angelenos and people across the country is reprehensible; everyone deserves dignity, regardless of documentation status. We also know that the ICE raids are deeply affecting farming and food communities. Farm2People will always champion our farmers and farmworkers.
