This is one of those things where I feel like, do they even need studies? These people *take pride* in their lack of empathy, but then they take offense to the terms applied to them (akin to people who are definitionally racist, but hate being called "racists")

I regularly use idioms like, "Now you're on the trolley!" for this exact reason, and I should probably stop now that I'm in my 40s

Really can't get over this. A reporter for the NYT just skipping over the most horrific thing imaginable
Not to mention, this guy doesn't have the introspection to ask himself, "why would this 'unsuccessful' influencer agree to an interview and photoshoot with the NYT?"

You are being really flippant about this stuff. People have asked you serious questions regarding whether you questioned this guy on how he attained CSAM images he posted, whether you reached out to professionals who deal with it, and you refuse to answer. This is serious shit, act like it matters
