Lambeth is Paul. Living in eastern PA, Lenapehoking.
him not being in control of specific institutions hasn't done anything to his success at decimating them. personally I've been expecting there to be talk of canceling elections and this is not surprising.

last time he asked someone to "find" votes for him, and got in trouble. this time he's not even getting stopped when a court mandates it. the epstein files are late beyond the law and there's no apparent consequences. maybe the midterms come and go but i have little hope for November 2028.

i wish, as you do, that capitalist techbros hadn't turned this interesting technology resulting from 70 years of innovation and turned it into an art killer.
January 15, 2026 at 12:40 AM
okay but the technology of 2019 still exists today. i fully agree with what this policy is about.

i only wrote this because i have a memory of getting caught up in Bandcamp's ban on harsh noise wall when they thought that was a fascist genre based on a subset of musicians.

my sense is they must have been doing it already, because AI generated music must be constantly being submitted to their platform.
January 14, 2026 at 4:44 PM
and to be clearer this is 2019, before the billions, when the technology was still predominantly a research tool, and i have no other examples to point to.

i don't wanna distract from how good it is to see Bandcamp take this stance. i fully agree with it.

i guess i can't convince you other than encouraging you to listen to what she did with it. she trained it as an interactive instrument that plays off of the voice of her and a choir, as an accompaniment. it was deliberately an entirely new sound from a failure to reproduce voices.
January 14, 2026 at 10:56 AM
excellent!
i know you will, but please exercise some caution with those artists who've made creative use of their own self trained AI models as part of their music. I'm thinking specifically of Holly Herndon.

i think a not insignificant amount of bandcamp sales is sample packs, some from field recordings, which strikes me as something one might, if a wanker, AI generate for quick sales

border patrol has been doing things like destroying water bottles left out for people crossing the desert, this whole time

amazing find! i have a CD set of this. saw Glass perform this a few years ago in Philly with his group, with a dinner break half way through. incredible endurance.

surely you called them hardies, because 8" and 5.25" were more floppy, and these were hard in comparison

at this point I'm surprised that screen readers do not extract typed text from an image. this seems like it would be an important, and at this point easy, addition to the software.

he is doing an excellent job of defying limitations to his power

okay today I'm feeling like i might need this.

is this still active and attached to the printed copies? i didn't realize you did a spoken word version.

hard to isolate any single passage. 2005/now.
January 7, 2026 at 11:32 PM
"Though dead hands ring the garden
And these are violent times
And violence brings more violence
And liars bring more lies
Though we were born defeated
Worried, tired, and scared
And monsters build mean robots
Launching rockets into the air
And the wealth of our nations
Fed on angel blood"

i fully agree. personally tired of waiting though. thanks for pushing the conversation.

there's also individual change as a solution to systemic problems. this kinda underlies my hesitancy - i have to research a lot to make one small change for just my house. we have government resources we could use to en masse convert to renewables. instead people are fighting their HOAs.

SELL ME SOLAR PANELS. do guerilla gardening but with solar panels! don't rest until every square inch of empty home depot parking lot is covered in solar panels.

but seriously: that's fair. thanks for replying. i'm primed, i have no opposition.
