These kittens have Thanksgiving down pretty well considering it's their first time.

Here's the list we have at the library.

My heart is feeling especially battered this past week, but look at this little peanut.

Today in public librarianship. A patron returned an empty DVD case and the DVD player the disc was stuck in.

Not his *best* movie but still, a little charmer. And two of the most handsome men to ever walk the earth at peak handsomeness. Man, oh, man.

See, In fairness to me, this is why I thought my manager was setting up a joke when he texted me that day.

I thought my manager was setting up a joke but no, he was actually asking me a serious question. Whoops!

Locally there's a @buffalolibrary.bsky.social ad running before Superman and at the 8-9 second mark are a couple shots of my branch starring the back of my head. I'm famous! 😂

The daycare put this photo on their Facebook so I feel comfortable sharing it here. Look at how much they're enjoying our weekly storytime. Tell me I don't have the best job in the world. Those faces! <3

Okay, kudos to Ken-Ton for this response, especially for very specifically mentioning library media specialists guiding the selection process. That's what they're for, baby!

Hey, looking for something to do that will feel good and useful? Here you go! And then you can come see me at the library right around the corner! It's a win-win!

Maulik Pancholy is the guest author at the library conference I'm at, and this photo does *not* do justice to how handsome he is.

I did it! I beat the Shadow Queen. 😭😭😭

Since we're taking about libraries today, friendly reminder that if you want to read a book that our system doesn't own, we'll do our darnedest to get it somewhere else. This book I'm reading right now is from a small college library in Michigan.

Here are all the Buffalo library branches with pantries. Merriweather also has a fridge so we can take perishable items as well. Not positive about the others.

"Leah on the Offbeat" is pretty fun too. I haven't read any other things by either of these authors, but I'm pretty sure some of their other books are queer as well.

The Summer of Jordi Perez (and the Best Burger in Los Angeles) by Amy Spalding is an utter delight. Great queer romance, a plus size protagonist, and one of the best platonic boy-girl relationships in YA fiction.

All of Ed Brubaker's Cap run is good, but this collects all the Winter Soldier stuff which is great.

If you want to know the exact moment during the Superman trailer that I started tearing up, it's this one. It feels potentially a *little* overstuffed, but the spirit seems right on.

Is Roberto Clemente an automatic buy for me? Heck, yes.

Even Grayson loves my wearable blanket. Bundled up for a bit after enjoying the snow.

DID I WEAR MY BLANKET AT THE MOVIES? HECK YES, I DID.
November 30, 2024 at 1:54 AM
Heather, you might be wondering, are you still in your giant wearable blanket? Yes! And I will be for the next three days.
