I really wanted to walk out of Drop Dead Fred but it was an organised youth group activity so I couldn't really. And The Master I almost walked out of as well because I couldn't understand a damn word anyone was saying - bad sound, mumbling...?

In my own top 25 and might well have been higher if I had rewatched it recently. The blueprint for all journalist dramas.

I remember seeing this in my ballet phase many many years ago and being completely transfixed - had to include it in my own top 50.

Absolute MASTERPIECE. I will forever advocate for this film - watch it, I dare you not to relate to it in some way.

I rewatched Interstellar and he is so good in that too. So underrated.

It inspired me to read The Duchess of Malfi at the grand old age of 13 🤣

2019 is a year of lots and lots of good to very good films but there's nothing there that makes me really excited (I have (perhaps unfairly) soured on OUATIH). Theres also nothing I dislike in that pile. I know my general apathy towards 2019 is a hot take (as I said on @neverendingwl.bsky.social)

She was perfect in the role, Rutherford and Lansbury werent frail enough for me if you know what I mean? Hickson was this tiny unassuming little old lady.

I grew up watching Joan Hickson as Miss Marple! A very important part of my childhood 😀

@jaylansalah.bsky.social @thereforereview.bsky.social @juliasirmons.bsky.social Listening to your Christie pod...speaking of "dark Christie": have you read Sleeping Murder? That book HAUNTED me for years, I still get shivers when I think about certain parts of it ("cover her face, she died young")

Also a good option but then youre in for the long haul and I look forward to you explaining the entity to him 😀

And of course if you want to start the Nolan education, The Prestige or Batman Begins. I think they're ok for a 10 year old but GenX here watched lots of things too early so what do I know.

I liked the opener too but yeah.

A terrible decision. How Far I'll Go is wonderful. Moana in general is one of my favourite Disney films.
