We also know that these statistics are only one part of a much larger picture. While the ONS refers to other socioeconomic factors, the LGBT+ sector is aware of the health inequalities affecting the more marginalised members of our communities. During Consortium’s recent work supporting the NHS England LGBT Health Evidence Review through the National LGBT+ Partnership, we repeatedly found that the available data was limited by inconsistent or incomplete monitoring. In many cases, datasets did not capture sexual orientation or gender identity at all, or did so in ways that made meaningful analysis impossible. We as a community know from lived experience and from frontline services that the inequalities facing LGBT+ communities run deeper than the statistics currently show, and future research must build on this foundation. National monitoring also needs to include gender identity, so that trans and non-binary people are no longer invisible within national health data. It must also reflect the voices and experiences of intersectional communities, including LGBT+ people who are Black, disabled, older, migrants, or living in poverty. Without this, policy and interventions will continue to fall short of addressing the realities people face.

LGBT+ is used consistently in the thread/article in reference to our communities/sector - the LGB+ is only in relation to that data which the article explains
It is also important to be clear about what this data does and does not show. While some trans and non-binary people may be included within these figures based on their sexual orientation, the statistics do not name trans or non-binary people specifically, as no information on gender identity was collected.
