Perhaps instead of continuing to blame public educators, we should look at the deficit of unbiased news sources. Reagan's elimination of the Fairness Doctrine ushered in the era of right-wing talk radio and Fox News. The unchecked internet has added to the problem. Our schools aren't the problem.

In addition to Garcia, every person deported to that concentration camp needs to be returned and given due process, as required by the Constitution. Only after due process is given should anyone be considered for deportation.

The most disturbing, enraging, and horrifying thing about this year is not just the blatant human rights abuses and descent toward genocide but the absolute silence from far too many.

The right to due process of the law is so important that it's guaranteed by not one, but two amendments to the Constitution. As the text of both amendments says, no PERSON shall be denied due process.

I taught about sex, gender, and sexual orientation today in my high school AP Psychology class. While it is part of the College Board curriculum, I'm always nervous after this lesson, especially considering I live in Texas. It's so sad that it's come to this. I hate living in fear.
