NZ - Black Friday sales= chance to emulate US. NZ Black Friday sales = what you call something that isn't really a sale, but you want to jump on the US bandwagon.

Does anyone have a delicious easy non-alcoholic drink recipe for Xmas that they're willing to share that's not grape juice?

Was thinking of sleeping- something had other ideas. I need a cuppa! #eqnz

First time this year sitting outside in the sun with a t shirt- no cardigan, sweatshirt or jumper in sight- birds singing, mug of tea and reading a great book by @standupmaths.bsky.social - spring is wearing it's best clothes today.

Have discovered this weekend that the NZ company who makes my favourite mint sauce has stopped making it. Why? Because they were bought out [read hostile takeover] by Kraft! I know it's a small thing- but it was really well made and it's one way I gave myself a treat now and then - sigh.

Self pity rant: I have another cold - have spent two days in bed but the cough is again the main problem and is dire - it went for weeks last time and I am already over it!
Rant ends.

I just did some research- if someone says tomorrow 'this storm is just like the Wahine storm' well, no - the winds were over 100km higher at the peak - I'm not downgrading tomorrow- it's going to be brutal.

Wonder what the next Royal family gathering will be like - I bet Andrew will get stuck with the Brussels sprouts 😂

Watching the Black Caps vs England- still getting used to hearing, 'God save the King'.
Wonder how long it'll take to get used to it 🤔?

Miracles of miracles, I finally got around to dusting, but before anyone gets too excited, I only dust as high as I can reach, and if you know me, then you know it's not very high 🤣. A friend once gave me a fridge magnet 'Dust test in progress, do not disturb the samples.' I love dusting- not 😂

So after over 15 years as a Sky TV subscriber, I have cancelled it. Of course I have to wait a month for disconnection quelle surprise! But have already unplugged everything [that was fun?!] Can use the extra money for fun [power bills, butter, stuff like that 😂] which isn't really a joke is it? 😀

Rest in peace, Mr Redford- thanks for the films, and iconic roles.

So am grappling with the fact that Griffins Chocolate Chippies are now called Chocy Chippies because they don't have enough chocolate in them anymore to be called 'Chocolate' - sigh.

To the person mowing their lawn before 8.30 am on a public holiday - I'm sure you have your reasons, and the by-law says you probably can - still doesn't mean that you should!

I have spent some of today unsubscribing from multiple retail related emails - I've done that a bit this year- I know it's Xmas and all, but some companies are sending multiple emails a day - sheesh!

I have tried to be good and not comment on the number of businesses closing in Welly due to lack of public servants, parking, etc. I feel sorry for most of them. However, enough already please journalists! Can you please stop banging on that well-worn drum.

A church near me has bells pealing 'All things bright and beautiful' ATM, but in my head, and it's beautiful but I am hearing the Monty Python version 😂 Not sure that's what the Anglican Church had in mind. They've moved to 'Amazing Grace' now, thank goodness- or should that be heavens 😃

A lazy ish day today - been watching the Cloudstrike problem (understatement) with interest. Was in the supermarket yesterday and I think I saw it unfold in real time.
I had paid for my groceries and was getting ready to leave. Don't know if it was due to luck, good management, or my EFTPOS card.

Just read an article on Stuff (I don't know why I do) about 10 supermarket foods to avoid- it seemed very 'hidden sugar, read label, easy for busy families to buy these' focused. For me it comes down to affordability, enjoyment, and time- as I suspect it does for most. These articles grind my gears!

I was going to start this post off with Sadly but decided against it - here is what I wanted to say- I have finally given up on the other place- although there's still great people posting, it's just no longer me, I'm not against right or left, just against the hate and anger.

Have tried the Whittakers Choc cross bun chocolate- getting Terry Choc Orange vibes with a strong taste of the raisins or are they sultanas? Not too sure abt this tbh- it's missing something IMO 😀

My neighbour's (abt 3 houses away) is listening to Engelbert Humperdink interspersed with BB King - some neighbours don't seem happy. I am OK with it as it's still relatively early, but there's only so many times I can listen to 'Please release me' 😂

It looks like Countdown are having some more issues- with their online ordering platform this time... rats not leaving a sinking supermarket, grocery no shows... perhaps they could use their profits for improvement? Cue Tui billboard...😀

Just visited a banking app - across the top of the screen was 'Happy Valentine's Day' with love hearts - as Charlie Brown would say 'Good grief!'.
No, I'm not anti SVD, but WTAF? If the banks want to start acknowledging it, they can start crediting money to our accounts in lieu of roses...?
