It is not legal. And even if it was, idc. You don’t treat people like this and we should make a law to prevent it. Also we no longer believe in due process. Effective about 1/20/25…

Trust me, you don’t want context.

If you mean in general, I agree with you. People did not know what was coming. Sure you can point out a few people that did (such as academic elites who had the time to watch what was happening and see) but it is a gross exaggeration to say that everyone knew.

Which vote are you referring to? If it is about enabling act there were no members of the communist party left at that point (having either fled, been sent to concentration camps or were killed out right).

I would also add, what did Biden do to protect the right to vote while he was in office? They did not preserve democracy, they preserved the status quo. If we are ever going to rebuild democracy we have to be honest about how we got here. And republicans didn’t bring us here alone.

I just don’t understand how you have so much disdain for people with so little power. The people responsible for all of this are our elected officials in one way or another.

I think he is telling us to move to Canada. Maybe their leaders on the left listen to them! 😂

I'm trying to remember who was president after Trump's first term and about how that person successfully prevented us from descending into fascism, because from what I understand, all it takes is electing someone who is not as bad as Trump.

This is priceless! Thank you so much! I need to remember this for the future. Because I do not see anyone arguing with you 😂

I did read it. I think you’re conflating things. The KPD was an elected party w/ power and should be rightly critiqued for contributing to fascism. But they didn’t vote for Hitler. As you said, he was appointed by the president.

The image you shared mocks regular voters who do not have power.

The legitimacy of govt is undermined when it appears unresponsive or captured by elite interests.

Basic civil rights don’t mean much when a country is starving and unemployment is at record levels and propaganda is being spread at scale. 4/4

No one thing “caused” it. The government eroded over time and people lost faith in the system. If there’s a lesson we should take from Weimar, it’s that our elected leaders must remain accountable to the people. 3/4

The humiliation and political fallout of Versailles, the 1923 hyperinflation crisis, then the Great Depression with staggering unemployment, repeated Reichstag dissolutions in 1932, governing by emergency decree, and conservative elites who believed they could control Hitler once in office. 2/4

I don’t think it’s accurate to say the KPD alone paved the way for Hitler’s rise. Yes, the SPD and KPD fractured, and yes, the SPD lost support because it prioritized institutional stability over economic suffering. But there were also other forces were also at play. 1/4

Okay, sure. So what are YOU going to do about this? Right now, all you are doing is spreading division. Telling people to call their representatives, to donate to immigrant rights groups in the area, etc. would be far more helpful in this moment than owning MAGA on the internet.

Great point. If we ever want to create a world where this doesn’t happen again, it is extremely important that we are clear eyed about how we got here. Thank you for sharing.

Pro-capitalism and pro-imperialism views can’t leave fast enough. I just hope they leave before another neoliberal is elected to office….

Okay, but what did he say on here that he lied about? What specific policy opinions do you disagree with him on?
February 12, 2026 at 3:48 AM
So what is your solution? “Oh well, I guess they have the ‘right’ to tell me no. Good luck to the 400 children in Dilley, I tried 🤷‍♀️”.

When do your personal values demand politicians do more than write a strongly worded letter?

I thought the US govt no longer funded you. Shouldn’t this title be something like “baseless investigation” so you can show that they no longer deserve to be treated like a good faith actor?
