This summer has been more “making comics” than buying any. Still, a few interesting things made it home with me. I’m pretty sure I had the Kotter as a kid. For the curious- Flames of Gyro is a pre-1980 Fantagraphics effort. Corben, Kane, and Stanley are self-evident.

From Hero Illustrated 24’s coverage of the Spirits of Independence Columbus stop in 1995. The inking on the rocks and dust is my most widely circulated work. Gerhard exclaimed “The rocks are nice- who inked these rocks?” Bonus trivia- Justin Colussy-Estes inked the ball on the flag pole.

Where is the lid? Once they achieved that impossible feat of strength, did the gelatinous coating gross them out? Could they not risk getting Vienna sausage under their fingernail as they tried to extract a single delicious meaty cylinder? Did they not have mustard & crackers?
