Interested in the ways people make themselves look, feel or perform 'better'. Avid harm reductionist. Happy to be called woke. Motorbiking makes me happy. Music is the answer. All posts my own weird views. Can I have some cheese now please?
And your evidence for this is........? Cold water may pass a little faster through the intestine but you're definitely going to get the benefit of drinking it. And what energy is 'wasted'?

..and there's me thinking there was a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow...although to be fair, a duck is a worthy replacement.

4. Finally - and i'm making a wild assumption I speak for others here - it's not the USA or Americans that most people have an issue with. It's the actions of your current administration. I take similar issue with the actions of my own gov, Israel, Hamas, Iran, Italy etc...basically...assholes :)

3. All major countries have singularly shameful incidents in their past, as well as things that should be applauded. However, no other country has so many people shouting about how much better the world is when they do those things...ends...means etc. That tends to wrankle.

2. Incidents such as the Mosaddegh coup (in which my country were equally complicit) clearly underline why people see the USA (and often the UK) as a major destabilising force in global politics. The current issues in Iran were created by past US gov's...and by that I mean actively created

At some point you need to recognise a few basic truths:
1. The USA has never defended anyone unilaterally. Ignoring and/or demeaning allies is one of the reasons for the current vitriol. Without allied support the USA would not have succeeded in any military campaign of the last 50 years.

I have many American friends and i'm a firm believer that the USA has made staggering positive contributions to the world. I'm sure many other people feel the same...until...like me...they see the contention that the USA has "defended the world from tyranny"....

One would hope so, although the cynic in me thinks back to numerous examples of profit over safety. Also, if Magnusson is to be believed, they've already stepped outside the protocol. I hope they stay true to their word on athlete safety, have my doubts though!

Excellent piece Natasha. Thank you for elaborating their harm reduction model, it seems to more or less follow the model we suggested in our recent paper on this. I still have a lot of questions around their plans though. For example, what happens to athletes who experience adverse effects?

You state in your substack that they've claimed they'll avoid peptides, but Magnussen admitted using several in a recent interview, most of which are not approved/have very little human data. Curious to know your thoughts.

1. It was a training flight, trainees make mistakes
2. Multiple factors were involved, including breakdown of radio transmissions - which would have affected a white male pilot too....just saying
3. 86 instances of near miss in 3 years, clearly not a DEI issue.
4. You're a bot right? *sigh.....*

Ah. I see what you mean. I guess that would make Covid-19 during an anabolic steroid cycle more of a risk factor than usual. However the onset is significantly slower with PED use, and appears to be a lottery as to whether someone would develop such symptoms, so perhaps harder to predict/ manage

I'm quite confused as to what part of that article you think might reference Covid...
