I think this is the most beautiful fabric I’ve ever woven. I had an amazing teacher at the Mid Atlantic Fiber Association last month and this deflected double weave structure has been unlocked for me!

I wove a series of dish towels as goodbye gifts for my coworkers. It’s bittersweet to walk away from the classroom, but I’m excited for my next adventure.

14 years as a classroom teacher. We went through fires, floods, pandemics, and earthquakes together. A dish towel was the least I could offer! ❤️

One warp, nine designs. Fun with color and plain weave with Jane Stafford’s Asymmetry! The yarns are all from Fab Scrap, too. #reduce #reuse #recycle

Happy first 80° day, Brooklyn. Anyway, here’s a wool scarf I finished.

8-shaft block twill 15” x 80”

Warp: hand spun 3-ply corriedale dyed by Primrose Yarn
Weft: two strands of silk and two strands of wool/cashmere from cones I got at Fab Scrap.

Away it goes into storage until the autumn!

Met these ewes and brand new lambs this weekend! My heart is full.

Alpaca fleece update: I natural-dyed a third of the yarn fern green, a third pistachio green and kept a third natural.

I used weld (3% wof, fern | 1% wof, pistachio) and overdyed with indigo (4 dips, fern | 1 dip, pistachio)

My kitchen smelled awful yesterday but these results make it worth it!

I injured my knee last weekend. It’s been a looooong week of no spinning, no weaving, no contemplative walks…

But I did finish this embroidery kit of a madder plant.

I finished spinning the alpaca fleece I picked up at Rhinebeck last year! I skirted and scoured it. Then I picked out the guard hairs, carded, spun, and plied it.

1893 yards, 16.25 oz, 2-ply, semi-woolen
