I was talking about the contemptuous statements about nature from senior Labour ministers, not anything you said.
hedgehogcycling.bsky.social
There is no need for the contemptuous statements they continually make about the natural world. Building more houses, fine, building at the cost of the destruction of what's left of the nature in the UK, not fine.

Although it's a joke, I genuinely think it's a good idea in many ways.

I guess it comes from not wanting to allocate space to cycling. You could have a cycle track leading to a waiting area, but it would mean taking space from motor vehicles.

That one is so narrow I doubt you could use it to filter if there were stationary vehicles either side.

This is the Ugly: a narrow, painted cycle lane in between two traffic lanes on the approach to a busy junction. How would you redesign this? 3/3

There are plenty of contenders for the Bad, including the narrow painted cycle lanes on High Bridge. Another is a preposterous cycle path that starts about 10m before a roundabout and chucks you back onto the A-road about 20m after it 2/3

I've been looking at cycle infra in Knaresboro, and here's the Good, the Bad and the Ugly.
The Good is a modal filter which prevents rat-running from new housing developments through older housing estates towards the town centre. (It should really be the Brilliant) 1/3

@ynymayor.bsky.social 2 points about the Local Growth Plan yorknorthyorks-ca.gov.uk/york-and-nor...
(1) Clean energy is great but burning wood at Drax is NOT clean energy, it's a carbon accounting trick that covers up vast quantities of GHG emissions.
(2) The text on the CA website is too wide

That's also a good reason not to vote for the Reform party.

And £3.50 for the opportunity to choose your room before you get there! But it's only an odge; a lodge would be more expensive and include more things.

It would be hard to beat 'I boiled my wooden spoons'.
Maybe 'I used coffee instead of shower gel for a week, and here's what I learned'.

Yes but I think conservation grazing involves small numbers of cattle, and the vast majority of meat and dairy comes from intensive production methods.

Ed Miliband is the best of the Labour government ministers because he's not afraid to do what he sees as right www.theguardian.com/politics/202...
This is Labour's opportunity, but too many of the other ministers are timid plodders, desperately trying not to offend anyone.
Labour must fight rightwing billionaires undermining net zero, says Ed Miliband

What Harris does - bring news of UKIP-style bigotry - is useful to an extent, but he is relentlessly negative and always makes a depressing read.
