Today was our first event of the 25/26 season, tidying and mulching the whips we planted at Whitley Bay High School in 2024. Of course we had our compulsory cake afterwards! We start planting again in local schools in November. Please get in touch if you'd like to help out.

It’s a pleasure at this time of year to see young hedging plants growing at some of the schools we’ve worked with.
Here are a few examples.

We've been out and about in North Tyneside today, meeting schools who are keen for us to plant a hedge in their grounds.
If you'd like to join our lovely volunteers, please comment below or message us. You don't have to be a gardener and you can give as little or as much time as you'd like!

After a break following the 24/25 planting season we’re now planning for next winter.
We’ll also be visiting local schools during the summer to see how their hedges are doing. 🌿🌿

Thanks again to all our wonderful volunteers, school staff, children and families who worked with us this season!
❤️❤️ ❤️

Hedges for Hope is a voluntary organisation in North Tyneside. We plant hedgerows in schools with pupils, parents and our great volunteers! In the last 3 years we've planted over 7,000 whips with over 4,000 pupils, all at no cost to schools.
