When I talk about bad shit happening in my community, I mean this stuff.

I know. I loved him. 😭 Was on the fence about bringing a caterpillar in but wasps were eating his siblings. I wanted one of the babies to live despite the circle of life.

Thank you! It was more like a vow renewal but it was also very nice!

I forgot I was making nomming sounds in that video. 🫠

He turned into this in early August.

also *had* bees and butterlfies. They've moved on until next year.

We got to raise this beautiful dude over the summer.

and if you're in Canada and think bad shit isn't happening here, you are a dongus.

Been very offline so I can manage the bad shit in front of me and in my community.

But I got married to my partner of 17 years this summer and my garden has lots of bees and swallowtail caterpillars. Beautiful things do still exist.

People are organizing.

I love the beebalm. I actually have a tattoo of a bumblebee landing on beebalm. I have so much of it outside and somehow I always manage to attract more that I haven't planted.

I wish I still had access to our extensive chats from the other place but I don't. I keep wandering out into the garden and just staring.

It's ok! I appreciate the thought and think my friend would too.

I am building another pollinator garden after I had to leave my last one behind because we had to move. It's *very* doable and so much fun. Low maintenance gardening that contributes to the local ecosystem.

I miss talking about bees with Sheila.

My dear friend and fellow grumpy ecosocialist @savewildbees.bsky.social passed away a few days ago. I'm so damned sad.

Please plant native wildflowers. Grow a pollinator patch. Bumblebees are precious and worth all our effort to save.

Would very much prefer a no bombing version of this

Who are the climate justice activists/groups most visibly participating in the anti-ICE protests?

Would like to speak with them for a story

(I'm fine. It just stings a little. Don't recommend putting eyeshadow *under* the eyelid)

unfortunately it happened and now I can't see ;)

people who compliment my eye makeup skills might rethink their praise if they knew how often I straight up jabbed myself in the eye.

trying to play dnd here
Zoom window of a woman with long brown hair, smiling and chagrined, as a large grey and white cat sits on her shoulder and chdews on her ear.

It says "Meg" in the bottom right hand corner.

And they are, by and large, people who are comfortable and benefit from the world as it is.

They can eat farts.

people who tell us to protest more politely are actually telling us they're uncomfortable with their complicity with the systems that are trying to kill us and the planet. They identify with the oppressor.

They don't want change. They should be ignored.

I played the flute in high school and My Heart Will Go On and the theme for Jurassic Park will never leave my head.
