Thank you Children's Healthcare Canada for your advocacy on behalf of children.

We must care about keeping kids healthy, preventing illness, physical & mental, to spot signs of problems early + mitigate them. To do this we need a comprehensive, multi-disciplinary strategy from birth to adulthood.

This Women's History Month we honour Supreme Court Justice Hon. Rosalie Abella. Her work on discrimination informed Canada’s first decision on equality rights under the Charter in 1989. In 2004 she became the first refugee & Jewish woman appointed to the Supreme Court.

Attended a very special reception held by the LGBT Purge Fund to view the Love in a Dangerous Time: Canada’s LGBT Purge exhibition, a Canadian Museum of Human Rights travelling pop-up presented this summer at the National Arts Centre. We must protect the Charter, and we must not go back.

from the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, which gave us 94 Calls to Action. To date, more than 85 percent of the Calls to Action requiring the Federal Government’s leadership are complete, implemented, or well underway.

The date is also known as Orange Shirt Day, inspired by the story of Phyllis Webstad, a residential school Survivor from the Stswecem’c Xgat’tem First Nation in British Columbia.

The National Day for Truth and Reconciliation honours the children who never returned home and Survivors of residential schools, as well as their families and communities. The Orange Shirt is a symbol of perseverance and Indigenous resistance against colonialism.
