On April Fool's Day, local Unite organiser Hēni hosted representatives of Labour, Green, and Te Pāti Māori and members of the local community and unions to the launch of Unite Union's 'Poverty is No Joke' campaign.
Hēni from Unite stands at a lecturn presenting, while Gerard (Assistant National Secretary of Unite Union) and three MPs sit alongside her. Two local and one national MP turn toward a screen showing the Minimum Wage versus Living Wage for the years 2019 to 2026. A rowdy bunch of people who hosted and/or attended the local Unite Union 'Poverty is No Joke' campaign launch at the Globe Theatre in Palmerston North. A lovely bunch, the lot of them!
