Coal is the most heavily polluting fossil fuel: significant air/water pollution from particulate matter and toxic chemicals + carbon emissions. The cost to upgrade and run the plants is expensive—and you'll pay.

The deals are as dirty as coal. States suing. Senate investigating misuse of funds.

It's turning a lot of athletes and the IOC into climate activists. But the future of the Olympics relies largely on gov't and corporate action to cut pollution: vitalsigns.edf.org/story/climat...? 🌎

Those data—combined with the last few years of record heat—have convinced many researchers that "there is a detectable acceleration of warming." More information on the research plus graphics: wapo.st/3MH96TF (gift). 🌎
Scientists thought they understood global warming. Then the past three years happened.
The fastest warming period since 1880 occurred in the past 30 years, according to a Washington Post analysis of NASA data.

The changes gut public comments; bills in Congress gut NEPA and judicial review. Clearly, the purpose is to facilitate logging, drilling, mining, other development of our public lands. It's always corporations over Americans. You can speak up below. 🌎

The research released in 2019 found we've lost 3 billion birds in North America--or more than 1 in 4 birds--since the 1970s. Some suffered greater losses than others. It would not surprise me if declines are accelerating--we are certainly not addressing the reasons for the declines....
