End of the drama - osprey seems to drop the fish, losing out on dinner, but escaping relatively unscathed. Whew. Ain’t no better soap opera than birds on the wing.

Bird drama! My wife and I, on a beach walk, saw this osprey carrying its catch. It seemed to take a meandering path back inland until it suddenly turned back, flying as fast as its little (in comparison) wings could carry it. And no wonder!

For Christmas, I got my wife a smart bird feeder. So far, one of the best gifts I’ve ever purchased. A series of visitors to the feeder. By day, such great shots! Plus surprise visitors at night. :)

We bought this house with the tiki in place already, but he’s been with us and watched our family grow and change. New chapter to be written, but with appreciation of the time that has passed, RIP tiki!

February was for Mardi Gras - even got in the paper one year! Eventually, we just combined the three February holidays into Lunar New Valentine Gras

Some years we did more than others. In COVID times, he just got a few decorations for Easter and St Patrick’s day. Other years were full out.
