the only real issue I've had with them is that some immediately started shining, might be because of the resin I chose (JLC Black Resin)

some stems are also loose in the switch but nothing a piece of tape can't fix

honestly once I found out how cheap it was (14 euros for this set) I immediately regretted spending a stupid amount of time sanding fdm printed ones, there's nothing (very little) to lose.

yeah! I've always struggled to get a neat pixels -> dots conversion method so I was thinking of a more printing plates / typewriter / plotter kind of machine to just avoid that... I guess it shouldn't strictly have cmyk inks though

instead of treating the bounces as point lights, they're uuh directional lights but with distance falloff, and they don't light anything past the plane defined by the light direction, so now it doesnt even bleed trough things as much

also added a "counter bounce" light to every ray

right now I'm straight up reading the (cached) texture at the hit point lol, but I guess doing something like storing the texture color at each vertex, and then just lerping at the hit point would work too
