Plan ahead for muscle soreness. If you know you’re doing a big leg day, then plan active recovery. Plan your days in accordance and look after yourself so you can keep moving forwards. Stretching, sauna and a hot bath will help.

Low motivation days are like a boxing match with your own brain. Aim to win that fight sometimes and use spite if you have to.

Find a buddy to help you correct and develop your form when lifting. Keep a video diary to see your progress and keep track of how you could improve.

Static weights are a great warm up, work your way up to most of your body weight and then switch to free weights- which will make you a pillar of strength in the long run.
