Yes, but knowing phonics at least gives someone a way into a word they've never seen before.

As a voracious child reader in the pre-Internet age, there were many words that I mispronounced until I heard an adult actually say them out loud.

But they weren't stumbling blocks.

No . . . just personal taste.

I like some Praise & Worship music and have a Spotify playlist with my favorites, but I can't really pray with it, as it doesn't invite stillness. It's more "singing in the shower" music.
