My son came home from his second day of school this year to see news coverage of the Minnesota school shooting. His reply was so simple and so out of reach.

"They should just make a law that people can't have guns, why can't they just do that?" - Jack, age 11

We have failed our children so deeply.

Earnest post, but: a thing I like here is it’s okay to have moments of happiness in public without being broadly scolded, and I believe that sustaining this kind of humanity will be very important as we resist fascism.

We have to sustain each other. Making joy isn’t denial, it’s how we will survive

The Empty Library (1995) is a public memorial dedicated to the remembrance of the Nazi book burnings that took place in the Bebelplatz in Berlin, Germany on May 10, 1933. The memorial is set into the cobblestones of the plaza and contains a collection of empty subterranean bookcases.

Beer purse
I keep leveling up but
rent prices get worse
My friends try to help,
send apartment blurbs
But I would die

Pet peeve at women's marches: men, specifically, who bring signs that don't directly speak on women's issues. Eat the Rich, Save Ukraine, boo Trump, etc. It's not just an anti-Trump rally or boo Republicans party. Men who bring signs that are actually about women's rights understand the assignment

I'm 100% against antisemitism. This isn't about that. This is another case of the President trying to control the free speech of campus protests. This is ALSO another case of Trump declaring fidelity Netanyahu. Thirdly, defunding research in higher education means more privatization.
Trump administration cancels $400 million in federal dollars for Columbia University
The administration said it was cancelling grants and other federal awards for Columbia for an alleged failure to protect Jewish students from antisemitism.
