The premise of the whole show was that a stable wormhole opened to the gamma quadrant and now ds9 gains importance as the natural watering hole to and from it. But I get what you're saying and also would love another show in that vein. And one set after the Dominion war.

Why do you think that matters? Trump could go live on television sexually assaulting children and the base still wouldn't care. There is no gotcha. Trump absolves them of their sins by giving them permission to hate and destroy the marginalized out in the open and that's worth everything to them.
