I don't think they've truly blown it yet but it could happen any day now. I would agree though, I think in many ways we truly peaked ages ago in terms of what's truly useful to an average person, they just needed polish but we added on a bunch of crap at the same time

I think the only pokemon-related opinion I'll ever have that is vaguely genwunny is that I enjoyed when the setting felt more grounded and would sometimes take place in the dingiest city streets you've ever seen.
