also just to highlight what my intention with this post was:
I like lucifer and am curious to see where his arc will go. i think my mixed feelings about him are intentional, i think he's flawed and has a flawed perception of reality. but i like that about him and want to see him grow!

he just is a war mongering opportunist. I could point to many historic events where this has actually happened! propaganda is a scary tool.
"Fear of the devil" is an abstract fear, fear of being genocided and overtaken by an empire is a way more real, existential fear. (4/4)

The comparison to televangelism can only go so far because Heaven is a real imperialistic entity that views the growing number of sinners in hell as a threat and uses genocidal tactics so they won't ever be challenged.

I really love all of these theories, i jus thave some things to add to them.
I think the comparison makes sense and that's where Vivzie is going with it, but I want to add that the people of hell have a very realistic and existential fear of the angels, unlike most cult members. (1/4)
