I've always used -by & -thwaite as viking places names. -ley also shows an inverse (assuming they're anlgo saxon names given the clear border following offa's dyke)

Also not sure what it's like in the US, but we've got a whole bunch of direct delivery micro-roasters in the UK and beans you can from them compared to supermarkets/large roasters is night & day
