since taking pottery classes, i’ve been gifting my coworkers the pieces that i made. my pieces might be a bit wonky, but my coworkers? 1000% supportive and not noticing the imperfections. making and gifting these imperfect little pieces is the best kind of happy — no perfection needed! 🪴

made and glazed a small bud vase at work and, while i really hate glazing, i loved how the glaze turned out (our school's art teacher makes pretty glazes).
i'm still figuring out what shapes i like, but i notice that i generally gravitate towards more rounder ones...usually by accident. 😅🪴

my pottery haul from recent lessons. no f*cked up pieces! didn't mess up the trimming or screw up the glazing (i hate glazing). 🙌🏻 also didn't realize i threw 2 identical pieces in shape and size (by accident). 😅 #stilllearning

me, the non-art teacher, hanging out with the fine arts teachers at work during collab time. these are my pieces.
still learning, but noticing improvements: didn't "wreck" any pieces during throwing, and didn't use nearly as much water as when i first started.
will practice throwing taller next.

unlearning what i learned from previous pottery classes & re-learning from scratch with fresh techniques...like centering with just 1 hand & pulling at 12 o'clock instead of 3-5 o'clock. seeing immediate progress, finding new efficiencies & most importantly, building my confidence with every pull. 🪴
