Just to counter the naysayers, I say BOTH Trigun series, because the new one IS actually good, and closer in mood to the manga, which is the best version. People aren't happy with Stampede because it's not a remake Trigun98, it's a reinterpretation of the manga and had the mangaka's full approval!

I'm definitely not in the purity side of things, but Wolfwood by the time he meets Vash is not 13. It's not explicitely shown in Stampede, but if you read the manga, it gives much clearer things to show he's an adult, and in the 98 anime, where the age thing never happened, he was straight up 29yo.
