Dynamic pricing would certainly make a huge difference on all levels of grid infrastructure (markt-, netz & systemdienlich). Countries that rolled out smart meters a decade ago are better prepared.
Even connecting the battery to the grid takes ages. New solutions are needed

The conflicting requirements of electricity market, system stability and grid congestion is a key reason why hundreds of GWs of battery projects are stalled in the grid access pipeline in Germany

Julkinen liikenne on arvokas palvelu josta on paikallaan periä pieni maksu.

The word "langfristig" means in the long term.

So what the utilities claimed in 1993 is that renewables can never ever provide more than 4% of electricity demand in Germany.

Never.

It's worth reminding that incumbent energy utilities failed spectacularly to understand #renewables just 30 years ago.

In 1993 the #nuclear power operators in Germany published this joint statement that solar, wind & hydro can't provide over 4% of electricity demand in 🇩🇪.

Even in the long term.
Advertisement in Germany from 16.6.1993 that says:
"He who asks critical questions is not a nuclear power opponent."
"Many young people see nuclear power as a threat. We, the German power suppliers do not take that lightly. We ask ourselves the same questions.
Can Germany phase out nuclear power? Yes, but that will lead to higher emissions from coal power. Because renewable sources like solar wind and water can not provide more than 4% of our electricity, even in the long term.
Can we justify such a measure? No, because the energy needs of developing countries require that rich countries reduce their emissions.
Can we achieve that without nuclear, just by saving energy? No. Nuclear provides 34% of electricity in Germany and avoids 160 million tonnes of emissions, with world class safety standards.
So: climate change or nuclear power? That is the question.
Many young people ask critical questions. So do we. Because we are our own thoughest critics.

Similar to the #Deutschlandticket but more punctual

Plug-in solar movement looks to build momentum in Vermont
Supporters already have won regulatory changes in Utah for so-called balcony solar systems, which provide a small boost of electrical power.

9/ Key results show nuclear scenarios lead to 99–115% higher levelised cost of electricity (LCOE) compared to the BPS-ref in 2050 (70.1–75.8 €/MWh vs. 35.3 €/MWh). The cost-optimal RE system is dominated by wind power (54%) and solar PV (30%).

These layoffs in automotive industry are devastating for employees but a necessary development to save the climate.

As always, we will see European taxpayer money bailing out the car industry. What we need is sustainable jobs that don't harm public health and climate.

#WindPower as support structure for anti-drone weapons on east Finnish border?

The #ResilEast project shows how radar and visual sensors on wind turbines at 200 height allow surveillance to 80km and more time to react to incoming drones.

Those who claim that protected cycle lanes require excessive space conveniently forget how much precious urban space is reserved only for cars.

Not only on the streets but also in the buildings where we live and work. Usually even non car owners pay for that parking space.

Before pouring taxpayer money into low-emission steel and cement production, we should cut excessive consumption.
If cities were built for people instead of cars (including electric) we would need 2t less steel per household, and 25% less floor area in buildings.

Saksan yritysmaailma oli myös osallisena natsien julmuuksiin. Osa yritysjohtajista tuomittiin Nürnbergin prosesseissa sodan jälkeen.

Tässä kuvassa Krupp-yrityksen johdon tuomiot, esim vankeutta 12 vuotta sekä omaisuuden menetys Alfried Kruppille, muille lievempiä tuomioita.

Editorial in Finnish main stream media finally states the obvious: it was a mistake to lower gasoline tax.

Finland was a founding member of the Friends of Fossil Fuel Subsidy Reform group so the devastating fiscal effects of that measure should have been anticipated

They did their homewrk--making their story subtly Right Wing biased. From his wikipedia:

"It is Finland's most right-wing gov since the end of (WWII.)"

NYT often takes quotes from RWngers at face value--even if they lie a lot.

Ironically T sued them 4 bias against him. He wants 100% + coverage.

Number Four of the #NurembergPrinciples states that "just following orders" is no excuse when committing crimes against international law.

These are principles created by the Americans 80 years ago.
en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nurembe...
The Nuremberg principles are a set of guidelines for determining what constitutes a war crime. The document was created by the International Law Commission of the United Nations to codify the legal principles underlying the Nuremberg Trials of Nazi party members following World War II.

Principle IV
The fact that a person acted pursuant to order of his Government or of a superior does not relieve him from responsibility under international law, provided a moral choice was in fact possible to him.

This principle could be paraphrased as follows: "It is not an acceptable excuse to say 'I was just following my superior's orders'".

Previous to the time of the Nuremberg Trials, this excuse was known in common parlance as "superior orders". After the prominent, high-profile event of the Nuremberg Trials, that excuse is now referred to by many as the "Nuremberg Defense". In recent times, a third term, "lawful orders" has become common parlance for some people. All three terms are in use today, and they all have slightly different nuances of meaning, depending on the context in which they are used.

Nuremberg Principle IV is legally supported by the jurisprudence found in certain articles in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights which deal indirectly with conscientious objection. It is also supported by the principles found in paragraph 171 of the Handbook on Procedures and Criteria for Determining Refugee Status which was issued by the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).

Would a 2kW+2kWh #BalconySolar system for 1199€ = 1410$ help on both accounts?

If it were allowed in NYC that is.

With adequate sunshine it could feed power directly into a household socket at half the price.
The 2kWh battery could keep the fridge running for many hours in case of blackout.
