Absolutely loved this book. I was crying from the beginning. It has such a great and impactful message that will mean something different depending on the age of the reader.

3) Strange Houses by Uketsu

⭐️⭐️⭐️.5

I don’t really have a lot to say here. This was a fun little book to listen to during work. It was a little mysterious and a little sad as most Japanese writers tend to be. Nothing wrong with it just no wow factor.

2) Between the World and Me by Ta-Nehisi Coates

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I fear the words I use would not carry the weight of importance that this book deserves. You should read it. Better yet you should listen to it. Hopefully we all learn something from it.

1) Three Shattered Souls by Mai Corland

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This was the final book in the broken blades trilogy. This was such a fantastic series from start to finish. The way this book ended had me in tears.

13) Impulse by Dave Bara

⭐️⭐️⭐️.5

I chose this book as part of Storygraphs Onboarding Challenge. I enjoyed the book. It’s a bit vanilla and isn’t afraid to throw in a litany of tropes. The world the author created has a lot of potential.

12) The Message by Te-Nehisi Coates

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This is my first experience reading Te-Nehisi Coates. This should be required reading in schools. The part about Israel/Palestine really hits hard in these days. It’s all so sad and so unnecessary.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Philip Reeve's epic city-eat-city adventure series continues with Mortal Engines Book 3: Infernal Devices. Loved the time jump, the dark turn the story took and the epic fight scenes.

6) A Storm of Swords by George R.R. Martin

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The third book of A Song of Ice and Fire and this was a fantastic read. It’s a massive book but worth it. The character work that the author does is amazing. It really feels like a History’s guide to Westeros

⭐️

This was short enough to finish and I still didn’t want to. She fucks her friends. That’s basically it. Nobody in Louisiana knows how to fuck except her friends. So she starts dating her best guy friend and he fucks her brains out.

I was pleasantly surprised by this book. I thought it was going to be some follow these rules to crush your competition bs but it’s actually fairly sensible. Examples could use some updating.

2) Rise of the Elgen by Richard Paul Evans

This is the second book in the Michael Vey series. It is a high stakes action packed sequel to the first book that picks up right where the first one left off and doesn’t take its foot of the gas.

8) A Master of Djinn by P. Djèlí Clark

I had a lot of fun reading this book. A detective mystery in a clockwork Egypt filled with magical beings, what’s not to love. So many books out recycling same ideas it’s great when a unique concept comes about.

Day 10 is an author I got exposed to through Star Wars. Delilah S. Dawson wrote Inquisitor and after reading it I’ve become a fan. Her writing just scratches an itch.
