One day, all the old-timey neocon ghouls burned by the Trump admin will help overthrow them like the Army of the Dead in LOTR.

Going forward, Ds should become a party of rebuilding. Political institutions, physical infrastructure, communities. Not necessarily defending everything as it exists now, but promoting good, strong systems in principle. And contrast this with the reckless destruction and accelerationism of the GOP.

In light of Trump's journey to Fort Knox to "make sure the gold is still there", I really hope Democratic hopefuls are brainstorming bluntly stupid performative gestures that they can make upon winning.

Elon's experience at Twitter made him think that the "fork" email would result in 10% of the Federal workforce resigning, but it's more like 3%. He probably didn't realize that Federal workers don't make overinflated SV salaries and can't afford the risk of resigning without a job lined up.

We on the left have forgotten how to do the difficult work of convincing the public of our agenda before trying to enact it. We need to begin doing this again—not because the other side deserves it, but because it is the only path to a stable future.

Trump's camp will pay dearly for leaning into the "king" aesthetic.

It might resonate with the hardcore base, but "no more kings" is literally the first thing that children learn about American History.

betterwithout.ai is a refreshingly sober argument against the widespread use of "AI" (as the term is currently used). Might overstate its case a bit, but it's good to have clear-eyed, technically-literate arguments like this.

Now that Republicans won the popular vote and every institution is capitulating to them, do I get to complain about the "MAGA mind virus"?

Move fast and break things, except "things" is the United States government.

@weeklyshowpodcast.bsky.social: "They said 'shock and awe.' Which is not a phrase that you expect to be deployed on your own country. I was under the impression that it was the kind of thing that we would deploy on countries we had hostilities with. But it turns out the hostility is with us."
