Most people seem to think this article is too hard on those stuck on COVID precautions, but it really handles them with kid gloves.

I just wrote my first letter of recommendation for something unimportant where AI cut the time in effort maybe in half. Previously all my experiences have been as Mina describes.

I tried to get my wife to watch Die Hard 2 (after watching Die Hard the previous night), but she insisted on watching this shlock. Such an inferior Christmas airport terrorist movie. She apologized after it was over.

Could you instead work in Blake Bortles?

There's nothing in the article suggesting what the killer did to evade identification.

It basically just says the amount of information available leads to a lot of false leads that take time to sort. Not an especially profound statement, especially in a city that only closes 39% of murder cases.

I suppose that could be true. Just seems odd to me. I grew up in NY and volunteered at packed no kill shelters (changed my mind on the virtues of no kill). I now live in Maryland 30 minutes from Baltimore and our local shelter only has 2 dogs up for adoption.

Very sad for the family, but can anyone explain why flying dogs from Maryland to New York makes any sense as "animal rescue"? Are Maryland shelters really more crowded? Are Yorkshire Terriers not adoptable in MD?

Democrats probably shouldn't lean too far into the idea that they can't win elections so they'll just try to jail their opponents and keep them off the ballot.

The fact that Trump won probably shows the wisdom of SCOTUS on these issues. I say this as someone who desperately wanted him to lose.

Add Laurence Tribe to the list of things ruined by the first Trump Administration.

His legal analysis used to be thoughtful and nuanced. Uncertain Justice was my favorite book on the early Roberts Court.

His views have been reflexively "Trump bad" for the past 8 years.

I think it's interesting that most readers seem to be responding to this with "we almost won the election. The academy and Democratic Party are just fine."

I work in academics and my politics are Left, and a lot of this resonated with me.

The price of a Penn education basically has nothing to do with college affordability. You take your loans (or not) and get your six figure job at Goldman or your roommate's dad's company.

The rest of America is deciding between 20k a year at a big public or 25k year at a non-selective private.
