Update: Elon Musk has now posted several times in support of Georgescu; Trump has also threatened Romania in the last few days trying to pressure them to allow the Russian operative to run for presidency. JD Vance specifically went to Europe to add pressure on this issue.

They just arrested the person who won the most votes in the Romanian presidential election. This is messed up.

The Trump administration is currently pressuring Romanian authorities to ensure that pro-Russian politician Calin Georgescu is allowed to continue his electoral campaign unhindered and run in the presidential elections in May, according to a report from Bloomberg.
The US newspaper notes that American officials have focused almost exclusively on the presidential election issue in a series of private meetings with their Romanian counterparts, warning them not to obstruct Georgescu's campaign.
The Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs
(MAE) issued a press release in response to the revelations made by Bloomberg, stating that there have been "public messages of some representatives of the US Administration at the Munich Security COOKIE SETTINGS l in social media posts.

Update: Prosecutors have recordings of Georgescu's right hand man telling billionaire Frank Timis, that he has Donald Trump’s backing to open up Romanian gold mines. Trump and Musk are connected to Georgescu’s kremlin operation to takeover Romania. Trump also backs the Tate trafficking ring.

Updating: Calin Georgescu has been indicted on 6 serious charges. His phone was tapped so Romania authorities have plenty of evidence against him, especially their calls to the Russian ambassador for help, furthermore his extremist paramilitary unit is linked to Wagner and Chechnya’s Ramzan Kadyrov.
